Recently one of my HomePods is acting strange when asking Siri to play music on it, it does play the music however the music appears to come from my iPhone, meaning I see on my iPhone Lock Screen the artist and song that is playing. What am I missing and how to make the HomePod independent of the phone?

It’s presenting you with controls for the HomePod. That’s the beauty of Apple products. The deep integration. If you tap the AirPlay icon on that platter, does it open up to the HomePod or your phone? I get this for my AppleTV which is great when I need to change the channel and my phone is charging on my nightstand.
