Playing podcasts at variable speeds

With many iOS podcast apps including Apple's supporting playing podcasts at a multitude of speeds, is there a way to do so on Apple TV? Every time I try to Airplay at a faster speed the audio drops out and the video seems to remain at 1x speed. I am used to playing most shows at 1.5x on iPhone and iPad to save time, and would love to be able to do so on Apple TV as well.
