New "scrubbing" feature
If you hold the touch vertically and tap on the background, there is a small button labeled x2 which you must have accidentally pressed. I like it for Democracy Now with headphones and can imagine using the x1/2 for transcribing, but it is obviously no good for music podcasts and causes the distortion you mentioned (the degree of which is dependent on the e
Kbps).
I listen to a lot of NPR podcasts so I was especially excited when I discovered this feature. For the anal-retentive out there it is worth noting that the ratios are not actually x2 and x1/2.
