I hope this is an appropriate forum to ask this question. Today I received a USB stick/drive that a company used to make a copy of a BetaMax video of our son's wedding. With the USB drive was a note that the flash drive should not be used as a player; rather the file on it should be transferred to the computer, and played back from the computer file. The explanation was that the USB stick functioned as a mini-computer, and that without a cooling fan in the USB drive the drive could heat up and fail if used as a playback device. I had honestly never knew that, and have been occasionally playing back other files from USB drives. I did a brief check on the internet, but USB drives seem to have been around long enough that no one (except me, I guess) needs such basic instruction anymore! Would someone please educate me?
