I have a TV with a USB port and will play videos straight from a USB drive with any other external connections. I was wondering if anyone knows the least expensive way to play videos off a drive on the Apple Cinema Display (short of connecting it to my MBA).

Thanks!

You'd need to buy a set top box, and an HDMI to MDP converter. You'd also need external speakers.

This might work.

EDIT: Doesn't look like you can get HDMI to MDP adaptors :/

You'll need the MBA. USB in a display is not meant for that, manufacturers simply took a usb hub and a display and put everything into 1 casing. Same goes for speakers, webcams and firewire. Your TV has something else, it can actually read from a usb disk.
