iPod touch Playlist folders on iPod Touch 1G / 3.1.3 ?

Hi, as the title of the tread says I have a 1G iPod Touch running 3.1.3. I recently created some folders as a means of organizing some imports in iTunes but discovered upon syncing that the playlists on the iPod are not contained in seperate folders. Is there any way that you all know of to force the playlists into folders or is this not possible?
