I am looking for an app that could make playlists by dragging a folder onto it.

As simple as possible.

I haven´t had any luck finding one (google, versiontracker etc..)

Could one be made with AppleScript maybe? That would be ideal!

A no frills solution.

What are you hoping to accomplish, import a folder's worth of songs into iTunes and make a playlist at the same time?

For iTunes 7, drag the folder icon from the Finder to the spot in the iTunes window where it says PLAYLISTS in all caps. Hold down the option key while dragging if you don't want to actually copy the files into your iTunes music folder.

…or did you have something else in mind?

Have a Script or App and drag a folder onto it and it would create a playlist of either a folder, folders or files.

I would essentially like to just drag a folder and it would create a playlist with the name of the folder.

Why don't you just drag the folder on to the PLAYLISTS in iTunes sidebar? Why do you need a script?

Because he dosen't want iTunes open?
If that's his wish, I hope he'll get help, but I don't see the point. iTunes need to be started at some point to listen to these songs, so just generate the playlist then.

Thanks for the replys guys.

Is there any script to make playlist from albums in iTunes then?

Why the heck am I anot able to move the column 'Artist' before the 'Title'?
