I'm not sure that this is an iTunes problem or iOS7 problem.
I have had this problem since iOS7 has been out. Sometimes it isn't a problem. But 95% of the time that I sync my iPhone to my Mac, it happens again.
iPhone 5 running current iOS 7.0.4 (11B554a)
Macbook Pro Mid 2012
iTunes 11.1.3
I don't use iCloud and I always sync using a cable. When I plug my iPhone into my Mac to sync everything over, everything seems to do everything that it's supposed to do until I look in my music. The way I have my iPhone setup is to automatically sync only my selected playlists. I used to drag and drop songs when I had the 4S but have since changed my ways once I got the 5 and found it to be much easier this way.
I can see all my songs on the "Run" playlist in iTunes are there. When I plug my phone in, select my phone in iTunes, name of the playlist ("Run"), and view the songs, they all show up. I know this because the number of songs listed at the bottom is correct...it should be 156 songs. The same thing happens with my "Purchased" playlist. Under iTunes my purchased playlist is 194 songs. When I plug in my phone and select it in iTunes, select the Purchased playlist, it also shows 194 songs.
Now when I unplug my iPhone (or leave it plugged in, it doesn't matter) and look in my Music app, my Run playlist shows that I have 48 songs and my Purchased playlist shows I have 174 songs. When I check each playlist, I do notice that certain songs are missing, even though iTunes says they're there. Since it shows the correct number of songs on iTunes, I don't think the problem is there. I think it has to do with iOS7, but I could be wrong. I have tried restoring my iPhone, wiping it clean of everything and resyncing everything back on with no luck.
Does anyone know what to do to fix this problem?? It's extremely annoying since I use these two playlists almost everyday!
