Playstation 3 video signal issues

I just purchased a playstation 3 and I'm wondering if this is normal. Anytime it switches from the main screen to a bluray movie or game it will temporarily loose the video signal. This has occurred on two different hd tvs using two different hdmi cables.

Yeah it's normal. It's kind of irritating granted (the 360 doesn't do this ever) but you do get used to it.
