Playstation store slow on the ps3

I was surfing the psn store and it was so slow & sluggish that it crashes after a while , I have the latest update & a fast Internet connection
I don't visit the store often but I don't remember being this slow in the past
Is there a fix for this

Also I have the 2012 AirPort Extreme and when I do an Internet speed test on the ps3 one test shows 40mb and the next test right after it shows like 5mb it goes up and down
The ps3 is wired ethernet cable
