Please advise

I have a 2ghz Dual G5 with 2gb RAM for home and a 15" 1.5ghz 1gb RAM powerbook (no superdrive, old screen resolution).

I use the following everyday: Adobe CS2 (all programs apart from GoLive), Marcomedia software, Logic Pro 7.1.1, Ableton LIVE, Entourage, MS Office

My powerbook is extremely sluggish compared to my G5 tower. I use my Powerbook to play live using Ableton but it really struggles with Logic and doesn't even run songs sometimes that I've created on the G5. Graphics programs run slower but ok on the Powerbook.

Should I buy the new MacBook Pro or wait? And why?

I'd think the current MBP would be about the same speed as your G4 PB since programs would have to run under Rosetta. Also, remember that some of your programs might not even run under Rosetta (Logic?). You'll have to get new programs when they come out as Universal Binarys, so you might as well hold off a MBP purchase for now.

Wait unitl Universal versions of the programs are released until you get a MBP.
