In Tiger, the icon preview for PNG files retained transparency if any was present. In Leopard, all my PNG files show white where there should be transparency, regardless of whether I set Photoshop to save previews or not. I'm wondering if it's just my machine.

Can you save this image to your desktop and tell me if you see a white background around the question mark? Obviously if your wallpaper is white, the test won't work.

Thanks guys. I consider this a bug. Well it bugs me anyway.

On the desktop it is white but in preview and it's still transparent...are you trying to make it an icon? If so img2icns converted it perfectly, thanks for the new icon :D

This isn't a bug, its a feature. All icons in 10.5 have a white border - it would look really stupid to have a white boarder around a transparent square.
Ah I see that now. I was wondering why some have white borders and and some didn't. The ones that don't had their previews generated in Photshop. Thanks for the info. I much prefer Tiger's borderless icons.
