Apple put a three year warranty on your model's GPU because they are known to fail early. Why not go see if Apple will take care of you? I know its not completely related, but worth a try.

Apple Store sydney

I walked in to the apple store sydney to have a look i havent got apple care but they tested it and said its logic

although after arguing with them i said to them that my powerbook G4 has outlasted my macbook pro they laughed at me

i said to them i may have bought a toshiba instead which will outdate this macbook pro they advised me to go and buy one i was disgusted and dissapointed in the attitude

now i dont know what to do with this machine
