There was a pretty great discussion about this stuff in my original thread (here). I've done some more thinking -- based largely on the suggestions of others -- and have come up with a revised plan for my internal hard drive configurations on my Mac Pro. I'm hoping to get some feedback on that plan here.

I've put together a revised graphic to outline my thinking. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

Do you really think that a separate scratch disk is necessary if you have enough ram? Anyway, I have a similar layout except where you have a scratch dick I have a dual boot windows Vista/Windows 7 NTFS disk.

Why put the OS and Scratch on a RAID 1?

The OS/System would make sense, but not the Scratch volume, as it's temporary data replicated on two drives.
