Please help 3gs 3.1.2 endless recovery cycle

I use pwnage tool to create a custom .ipsw and it put the iphone into recovery mode. Now when I try to restore to the custom .ipsw it ends in an error.

How do I get out of recovery mode? I don't want to upgrade to 3.1.3.

Please help.

New or old bootrom. If it is new, this won't work. Only works with old bootrom.
