please help a noob understand haha

alright so i just got a 32 gb touch and i am interested in jailbreaking it, but the more i read up on jailbreaking the more confused i get. from what ive read iLiberty+ is the way to go right now (im running 1.1.4). if i jailbreak using this what all do i have to do? also ive read things such as payloads and openssh and what not and i have no clue what that stuff means. i just want to jailbreak my ipod touch haha. and if i do jailbreak it, all i have to do is hit installer app and dl stuff? i also saw things about creating sources and what not and i have no idea where to start. sorry for the long post and questions, im just tired of searching and not finding any answers
