Please Help: Add caret and dash over any character.

Hello,

I need to create some college notes, but I need to add the caret (upside-down "V") and a - over certain characters.

I have researched it and found out how to do it with vowels, but I need to do it for "P" and "R" and a few other letters. There has to be a way right....

I am using Microsoft Word Mac, but I have Pages, Text Edit, Office for Windows...


Please, please help.....
