...was trying to back up some media from my external drive (waited until 10.3.9 to see if i'd ever get full ntfs support--since i recently switched, my external drive is still ntfs) and i accidently messed up my copy/paste procedure. ended up with almost 900 corrupt mp3 files on my desktop, which is causing finder to freeze immediately upon launch.

so i've decided to go into the terminal (i can get into applications by setting them to launch at startup and restarting my powerbook) and either delete everything on the desktop or delete the entire desktop folder or something...the only problem is that i can't figure out how to do this.

can someone tell me how to delete every file, or every mp3 file, in the desktop folder (or delete the entire folder, if that won't mess up my computer any more)

EDIT: trial and error worked for me...i got it
i was scared i'd have to reformat or something there.

THANKS!!!!!
