Hi all,

My iMac (Intel, Mavericks) freezes during startup,(gray screen with the apple, and the spinning circle).
So, in order to find the origin of this blockage, I booted in "verbose" mode (cmd+v), and I found the following error:

BootCacheControl: could not unlink playlist /var/db/BootCache.playlist: Read-only file system
launch_msg("SetUserEnvironment"): Socket is not connected
launch_msg("SetUserEnvironment"): Socket is not connected
launch_msg(): Socket is not connected

I need expert help, I do not know what to do ...

Is it possible to reset this file ?

I hope someone can help me, thank you..!

Can you boot of the recovery partition? CMD+R and verify the Disk / Disk Permissions ?

Did you install any software on the mac prior to this happening? Was it not shut down correctly?

Here is some information about the recovery partition

Here is some information about Disk Utility which you can run once booted off the recovery partition

Hi,

I can't verify the disk permission, this option is grayed out :/

But I verified and repaired the disk, but it changes nothing
