Hi Guys,

I wanted to ask you guys ask for some advice from you guys, I am looking out for an Monitor, I want to use a Monitor with an iPad Pro as an external Display. So I am thinking between this one DELL P2419H and the LG 24MP88HV. I would generally prefer LG over DELL for its Sharpness, Colour Reproduction and Detailing.

But I am confused since I am going to use the Monitor with an iPad Pro so having a Monitor which displays content and works in Portrait Mode is also a great feature to have. Sadly the LG does not support that. But LG has a better reputation of producing some great TV/Monitor Screens.

Also the Dell has a little thicker bezel that has just a slight bit of more area than the LG Model mentioned here. The LG Model I have put here has absolutely thin bezels all the four sides which can give an immersive Video and Movie watching experience, where as the DELL Model just has slim bezels on three sides but slightly thicker bezel at the bottom.

What would you suggest Guys ? which one should I go between the Dell P2419H and LG 24MP88HV ?

I recently bought the Dell P2419HC for this exact purpose as it has a usb-c connection meaning you just need one cable from the monitor to the iPad Pro for power and display. I didn't want to spend too much money on it and didn't want anything bigger than 24", so this was a great fit and I'm very pleased with it.

I've had LG screens in the past, but in this case I was wanting to keep the cost down. I don't think the bezels on the Dell are too big at all actually.

Oh cool ! Since you have recently bought this same monitor from Dell the P2419H does the thick chin at the bottom of this Monitor not turn out to be a kind of distraction from giving you an immersive watching experience. The LG Monitor I have shortlisted is all through out from all the four sides absolutely Bezel Less.

And what do you think about the colour gammut, colour reproduction of the Dell P2419H ? Do Colours pop out on this Monitor ?

I wasn't distracted by the bezels or chin, but now you've mentioned it, the chin is bigger than the rest of the bezels! It is black though, so I'm sure it wouldn't be distracting when watching content.

I've had other LG screens, larger 4K ones, so I've not got another 1080p screen to compare it with. I wouldn't say the colours "pop" on the screen, but I've not played about with the colour profiles available on my MacBook Pro. It was certainly a good enough screen for my iPad Pro though - both for working with apps and watching content.

How do the panel specs compare between the two?

The Dell certainly has very good reviews from people who have bought it - those and the usb-c connectivity swung it for me.

I dont know I am a little confused, it is turning out to be a Trade-Off which both the Models have something Unique to offer. LG Model has extremely Thin Bezels to give a very immersive viewing experience. While DELL gives a Portrait Mode which LG does not, which if someone wants to use it with an iPad comes very handy, if You wanna stream anything from your iPad which is in Portrait Mode like Photos in Portrait Mode on your iPad.
