Please help!!!!! FCP won't match the screen resolution

Hi all,

first apologies for writing mistakes, I'm not native English speaker.
I bought new monitor-BENQ and when I'm trying to open FCP 6.0, the message appears that 'FCP recommends a screen resolution of 1024x768; this system has a screen resolution of 1280x720', and then it closes the application. I can't set it up in the system preferences, as it doesn't show the exact resolution which FCP requires.
There are no problems with other softwares, it's only with FCP and DVD studio pro... please help!!! I need to start editing for my assignment, and getting very stressed :confused:
