I have loaned a 1st gen, restored iPhone from a friend in order to get the upgrade eligibility for the $200 price. I have just activated it today. Will I still be eligibile for a 3G at the $200 price? My OLAM has not refreshed to reflect the fact that I have an iPhone yet. I REALLY need to know pretty soon, so a simple yes or no answer is fine if you don't have time to make a long response.

since you've activated it, why not just go see if you can get one? What can you lose now

Do you have any information that would back this up?

iPhone 3G will be available for $199 for the 8GB model and $299 for the 16GB model. These prices require two-year contracts and are available to the following customers:

* iPhone customers who purchased before July 11
* Customers activating a new line with AT&T
* Current AT&T customers who are eligible, at the time of purchase, for an upgrade discount

Existing AT&T customers who are not currently eligible for an upgrade discount can purchase iPhone 3G for $399 for the 8GB model or $499 for the 16GB model. Both options require a new two-year service agreement. In the future, AT&T will offer a no-contract-required option for $599 (8GB) or $699 (16GB).

hahahaha

Hey OP, good work. Real tricky. I bet you throw a good surprise party, too.

On the 13th, I activated my old iPhone for my mom to use. Before activation, I check to see if she could get an iPhone 3G at the subsidized price, but she couldn't until december. After activation, it now says that she is eligible so it is worth a try.
