I need to reformat my hd but I don't have my discs to do so. Is there any other way I can do this? I have my friends OSX disc but it will not let me use this on my MacBook Pro. PLEASE HELP!

If the purpose of this reformat is to erase your hard disk, you might try getting a linux distro and using that to format the HD. I have never tried this on a mac, but I don't see a reason it won't work.

I think the OP wants to "wipe and install" and that is why they are asking about an OS disk. You can pick up a Snow Leopard disk for $29 and it will work on any Mac. Apple will probably charge you less for a replacement for the disk that came with your system but you can walk in and pick up a SL disk in a few minutes (provided you are near an Apple Store or Best Buy that happens to have SL in stock).
