I am trying to connect my iMac to my Hi-def tv. In order to do this, i will need to buy the Mini-DVI to VGA adapter, and connect the VGA end to a VGA to Component adapter then go to tv. This should allow me be able to use my tv as another monitor, correct?? It makes sense to me, but just want to make sure that it will work before i order the cables...

ALSO, anyone have any idea what kind of picture quality i should have? i own a 46" 1080p lcd tv.

Thanks for your help!

I would recommend you getting the mini-DVI to DVI and then connect it to your LCD using DVI-HDMI or DVI plug, depending on the connections you have on your LCD. You will get much better quality then using VGA.
