Please help iMac wont share internet through ethernet

Hi I have turned on internet sharing to share from wifi to ethernet. I am trying to share the internet with a MacBook pro. The MacBook Pro shows a valid IP address and subnet mask and Router ID, but will not connect to the internet. I have tried to share from ethernet to wifi on the iMac and it works fine, however sharing from wifi to ethernet consistently wont work.
