about a month ago i accidently deleted my iphoto application. I now have installed the the 2008 iLife onto my computer. However when i try to open the iphoto it tell me to upgrade and gives me this message:

"Your photo library will not be readable by previous versions of iPhoto after the upgrade. The upgrade process may take several minutes depending on the number of photos in the library."

When i click on the upgrade button it then replies that:

"This photo library is damaged and cannot be upgraded"

What do i do?

Have you tried re-installing the original iPhoto app? Also, you create no backups of your precious photos?!

well my photos aren't deleted per say. I still have them on my hard drive. But i cannot install the original iPhoto because i don't have the CD anymore. what should i do?

i can't help you with the iphoto library but the first thing you should do is burn the pictures to CD/DVD just to be sure.

in the worst case you would create a new iphoto library with iphoto 08 and drag and drop your old photos into the new iphoto. depending on how many pics you have you should be done in a couple of hours.

DVD burning with iPhoto pictures

From iPhoto to DVD

Is there a step by step book or information that I can get to do this.
I have tried man y times but it has been a failure.
Does someone have some ideas to do this the simplest way?
Your help in this is much appreciated, I have iLife 6
