Thank you for reading this. I know this is rudimentary, but I am struggling with this and can't find an answer. For different reasons, I just had to erase my iTunes software off my drive and then load the most current version. My library is on my external drive, and I have set the itunes Music folder location to that drive. The music is still there; the problem is that iTunes doesn't "see" it yet.

Isn't there a way to quickly tell iTunes to "look" at the songs on the drive so that it will populate my library with the song titles? Again, I have correctly set the iTunes Music folder location; I just need iTunes to fill the library with the names of the songs.

Thanks again for reading this. I know it is rudimentary, but I am really struggling. Thank you.
