iPod touch PLEASE HELP: Just Updated iPod Touch - Music/Videos/iTunes Won't Work

I just updated my iPod touch to 1.1.5, and now I can't access my music, videos, and iTunes applications. They open, then immediately close! Could someone help?

And when I plug my iPod into my laptop (HP), iTunes doesn't recognize that I plugged it in, so I can't restore it to it's original settings.

Put it in recovery mode. Hold down the home and sleep/wake buttons, once the Apple logo appears release the sleep/wake button but keep holding the home button. It will come up with an image of the iTunes logo, with an iPod connector underneath. Plug it into iTunes and try and restore again.
