Hello

This is a question about a lost Ipod but I guess I can post it here as well since it's more of a general question.

What I would really like to know is if it's possible to send iMessage from an Ipad to an Ipod if the the Ipod is turned off or without WIFI. ( I don't own an Iphone, the iMessage on my apple ID can only communicate with my Ipod and it only has wifi connection.)

My Ipod got lost yesterday (or misplaced somewhere in my house???). I tried to send iMessage to my ipod and all messages was delievered according to my friends' Ipad. Would this be possible if my Ipod was off or without WIFI? If NO, then it's probably still in my house somewhere.. To day I changed my itunes password and now it's no longer possible to send iMessages to my ipod. BUT I don't know if it's due to me changed password OR if it's due to my Ipod being turned off/flat battery or no WIFI...

Any ideas?

Thanks!

The message will not be received on the ipod if it's switched off or without an internet connection(wifi)

you can tell if it's switched off/on by using the "Find my iphone" app on https://www.icloud.com/#find

While you're there, you can set it to lost mode and add a message for the person who found it to contact you when found.

you may also want to make sure that the activation lock is in place - https://www.icloud.com/activationlock/

find my iPhone has a please email me when found feature too
i guess that comes up if its off
