I'd like to put burn these files on a DVD so I can share them with my family. I have an iMac 27", iLife '09 and iDVD 7.03 to work with.

Total files is about 100+
Each file is anywhere from 30 seconds to 4 minutes.
.MOVs came from my iPhone
.MPGs came from my Canon Powershot

Thanks!

import all video clips into iMovie 09. I suggest you watch a few tutorials if you've never used it. It's pretty simple, but at least some starter help is good.

Edit the video clips together as you want them. Keep each compilation to about 1 hour 40 minutes. At least somewhere in that neighborhood, or it will be too large for a single layer DVD.

Once edited together, export the project to iDVD. Setup your menus and Main menu theme, and burn.

If you want separated chapters on the DVD for faster access to different sections of the movie, create those in iMovie, and iDVD will use them.

You can also use Burn to create video DVDs (called Video-DVD in the screenshot).
