PLEASE HELP!! making an iMovie video, length and recording

Does anyone know how long the iMovie will record for, I have no upgraded software just the basic of what Apple gives to you when you purchase the OS or laptop. I have a UBMP and am trying to use my computer as a hidden camera. Also are there any reasons why the video would stop recording. I am looking to record about 1-3 hours of video non stop.

It will not stop recording unless you run out of space. But more likely if the battery dies so if you have it plugged it should not stop recording.

I don't know what your purpose is, but you might want to look into some of the various shareware packages that support recording video via motion detection. That would save you a ton of disk space, if you are trying to run all night or something. ( I know you said 1-3 hours )

You also need to make sure your computer doesn't go into sleep mode while recoring.
