Yes, it's another one of these NAS threads. I'm looking for a NAS as primarily a backup solution for my household (multiple computers, Windows, Mac & Linux) but also to serve media when required. I will be using ChronoSync on the Mac and will need to do my research for equivalents on Windows & Linux, but that's for another thread. I've narrowed down my selection to the Buffalo Linkstation Quad and the QNAP TS-419P.
I don't have any experience with either of these vendors so my questions are two-fold: As far as the companies go, for anyone that has experience with them, what are your thoughts regarding quality of products, support, warranty, etc.? Next, the QNAP is considerably more expensive than the Linkstation Quad (judging by what's available on ncix.com, where I plan to purchase) so I'm wondering if the product's quality or support offered warrant's that price increase, given the products are very similar (edit: from what I can tell, if you see something that jumps out at you on the QNAP over the Buffalo, please let me know!).
Any thoughts?
