Hey all, I have been getting flash messages:

There were some other more crude messages that I won't post here.

I was thinking is there any way I can find out who is sending them? My phone company says they don't record incoming text numbers only outgoing.

I have installed Syphone which would allow me to view every message I have sent or recieved but it's picking up my sisters iPod touch instead of my iPhone which makes the whole program pointless.

Please help. . . .is there any other program that would allow me to get all sent messages to my Mac to view the number of the sender? . . . once you hit dismiss the message goes away for ever so its not saved in my actual inbox.

Thanks.

Haha, just put *go at the beginning of the text and it will display it as a service message.

I know its a service message a la

"*goI'm Watching You!"

But there's no way of knowing who sent it and its freaking me out.

Yeah, unfortunately there is no way of checking, probably just one of your mates with an iphone. just send one back to all your contacts with the *go and they will grip on to the fact that you know how to do it. Otherwise i dont know. sorry.

Is there no way? If you lodged them as harassment texts, the network might have to do something more about it, no? Or bar flash messages?
Would they have something like SMS block

?

Unfortunately, yes there is no way(meaning you'd have to get the telco to investigate heavily and possibly work with an ISP). It's like trying to find the origin of SPAM. There are many websites out there that folks can use to send SMS messages to devices from teh web, often spoofing where they came from.

hey I am on ATT does this *go work on it? I just tried to do it to my friend and it didnt work. Tried it to myself too :).

I did *gohey what ya doing

OP, if you are in the UK on O2 you can find the answer in your Bluebook. Otherwise I'm afraid I don't know.

*go is the code for doing it from O2 phones

Yeah to my knowledge it is O2 UK only, surely it isnt anything to do with an ISP, its from one mobile to another.
