iOS Please help me in the right direction

Hi

I want to create a gps like app. Its going to be really simple. Basically I just want to be able to use the map to search for destinations and to make it locate me. I would like to know if anyone knows about any books that could help me with this, or if anyone have any experience with this they could share with me.
