Please help me in unlocking 3GS on 5.0.1

I got a 3GS on 4.1 unlocked and jb'd with ipad bb. I heard somewhere that if I update to 5.0.1 with ipad bb and since my iphone is with the new bootrom, its just not gonna work. Sum1 wanna help?
