I dropped my ipad 2 from the bed and now it has a small dent on the ipad's right corner. Although the volume button is not jammed or anything, I can not turn the volume down- I mean I push the down button and nothing happens. The up button is normal. I think there must be hardware problem. (T.T). Poor me!!! Anyone got any ideas to repair the button?

Take it to the apple store for repair?

Part of owning something, if you break it you must fix it.

Otherwise you can adjust volume from settings.

Repairing that button is not a small job. You can watch a tear down video on YouTube to see how far down you need to dig. :( I would do what Tyler suggested, and simply slide the screen up with a four finger gesture to access the volume setting on the screen. I don't own an iPad 2, but I'll just assume it works the same as the 3, 4, and Mini.
