Hi All,

Im about to buy a 2012 15" MacBook Pro.

But during the AHT it gives this error.

4MEM/9/40000000: 0x81eb4f90

What will it be? As far is I can find it should be the RAM. There are 2 8gb sticks and the error only occurs when both are in. not when tried 1 in 1 slot only both slots were tried.

Any ideas?

Jeroen

Most likely faulty RAM stick(s). But I can't guarantee it's definitely the sticks. It's clearly memory related, though.

Make sure the RAM sticks are identical pairs of the correct spec (1600MHz DDR3). And remember, the 2012 MBP only "officially" supports 8GB, but generally accepts 16GB.
