Kidding aside, read them first, it might solve the problem.
Nothing is free nowadays, I think there's a hefty price on those disks.
As I said read links before, but try this first, boot the Mac holding the shift key at startup, this will result in a safe boot.
But I doubt it will work.
What does the text say when you enter verbose mode, this is different than above, hold the Command AND V keys right after you pressed the power key, hold it until a black screen appears.
Make a picture of it or write the text here, a picture will probably be better because the chance is high it's quite a bit.

Call Apple and get Replacement Restore CDs for that Mac, there should be an identifier at the
bottom of the Mac. You can use them with an external Firewire 400
optical disk drive (ODD).
