I just got my Macbook, but just tried to print using my Dell 1100, to no avail. The Dell website makes no claims that it is compatable with OS X, but I have read that some Lexmark drivers will work instead. Has anyone else had this problem, or know of a solution that I could try? I would really appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks!

I can't see it mentioned anywhere on the Dell website, or any of the reviews, but some cheaper printers will only work with Windows. They are basically dumb printers which rely on the OS to do a lot of the work, which makes them cheaper to produce. We have a Dell inkjet at work (free with a PC) that is totally useless unless linked to a Windows system. I can't even get a share of the printer to work with my Mac.
