Please help -Newly loaded music on my computer will not sync to iphone

Hi,

My computer died and I am now using a laptop.The local computer shop copied my music across that I had loaded on my old computer from cd's in the past.This music is now showing in itunes on my laptop and also on my iphone.
But if I load a new CD onto itunes it will not copy it across to my iphone when I sync.It says the sync is complete (there are no error messages).
Please be gentle on me -my knowledge is limited -thanks !

Are you adding the music to itunes first?

ETA: are you checking the playlist, artist, etc. when syncing your phone?
Be specific on the steps you're taking to sync the music. Pretend you're writing a tutorial on syncing music to the iphone. Don't leave any steps out.

Thanks for your help.

I re did the sync process from scratch manually, and was then given the option to set the new computer as the main machine to sync the phone with.This meant I lost all the music on my iphone but as I luckily had it all backed up, i then copied it from scratch onto my iphone, success ! Thanks again.
