Hi. I am paying for internet while deployed in Afghanistan and the way it works is through a CAT 5 cable that is hooked to a switch in the building. Each computer has a fixed IP and a name/password to access.

I have an Airport Express on the way and I'd like to be able to disconnect my MBP from the lan cable and enjoy wireless.

How will I configure the Airport Express in this environment? Thank you.

Just set it up to share a connection; it'll give your MacBook Pro a NAT'd connection, and you'll be able to assign the AirPort your static IP.

Thanks for your help. Just got the router today. It works fine, but is flashing yellow and reporting a double NAT.

When I change settings to fix that, I lose internet.

Thoughts?

Thanks.
