Hey guys.

Im in quite the predicament after installing lion on my 2010 Mac book pro.

I use the machine for audio and many program's, plugins & drivers are not working, hence i want to use time machine to revert to snow leopard.

Here lies my problem.
I have taken out computers optical drive and replaced with an ssd drive for second hard drive.

Im aware that i need to boot from the snow leopard install and have tried from an external cd drive, usb & SD card with no luck, after the boot selection screen (after holding down option) and then choosing the option , the screen does not progress from the grey apple screen.

Please help or put forward other ideas. i need to get the snow leopard to boot.

& for all those pro users out there, dont risk lion, it's just not worth it!!!!

thank you

If you have another Mac (with firewire) handy I believe you can boot it into target disk mode and install it from the other Mac.

I had to do something similar when my old G5 wouldn't read the Leopard (10.5) disc.

I'm a borderline pro user, and Lion has given me no issues at all.

You'll need some sort of optical drive to get the SL disc in. Once you've got it hooked up, either boot straight from it or restore the disc to a flash drive or external HDD. Look around on Google or these forums, plenty of instructions.

If the instructions are not working, post here the ones you used and we'll see if we can't figure out the issue.
