I need help upgrading to ios 5.0.1. I have an iphone 3GS that is on version 4.1, modem firmware 06.15.00 (I screwed up last time I upgraded and had to go to the ipad baseband, which has actually worked just fine). I have downloaded redsn0w_win_0.9.10b4 and iPhone2,1_5.0.1_9A405_Restore from iclarified. I just want to make sure I have the correct custom ipsw and that this will be an untethered jailbreak. Also, I checked cydia and tiny umbrella and they both say that I have saved SHSH's for iphone 3GS 4.1 (8B117) and iphone 3GS 5.0.1 (9A405). If I follow the instructions on http://www.iclarified.com/entry/index.php?enid=18932, am I good to go? Just going the safe route, as I said I screwed up last time I tried upgrading.

I'd like to know this too as I'm considering upgrading as well.

OP: I've read that iOS 5.0.1 can cause slowdowns and battery life problems with the 3GS. I'd like to know how the update works for you. Would really like to get iMessage on my phone.
