Please Help: VZW iPhone 5 unlock

I just bought a Verizon iPhone 5 from Walmart and I simply want to unlock it, and stop it from displaying the continuous message 'iPhone not activated'. I plan to get Straight Talk and use it with that, but for the time being I want it to stop displaying the 'not activated' message. I factory restored, but did not get a 'Congratulations your iPhone is Unlocked' message. If anyone could help I'd apprecaite it.
