Please Help with Backup Settings

Yes, I have been through the forums and was not able to find simple guidance on Backup Setup.

Attached a couple of Screen Shots, and I am not sure of which boxes to select. Back up to the Cloud or to my Device? Encrypt or Not Encrypt?? 🤔

Also....Turnoff iCloud Photos?? Why would I want to do that?? 🤔

Please provide a few pros and cons, on what is good or bad about these selections. Thx.

Do you use simple passwords on multiple sites type? Even back In early days a starlet had her iCloud simple password (her dog’s name) hack and posted to the naughty sites! So STRONG passwords are needed to use any Cloud severs!

Also many ISPs in America put data limits per month on customers so those place don’t use Cloud severs of any kind too!
