Trying to start my MacBook Pro, I get the following when the apple appears (see pic).

I repaired disk permissions without luck. It won't start in Safe Mode.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

No, unplugged right now. It needs to be plugged in during a hardware test? It's doing the extended test now to verify, but still not plugged in.

I would just reinstall OSX but it's my bosses computer and there is no disc and he probably hasn't done Time Machine in a loooong time:eek:.

At least it's giving you very useful information such as your uptime in nanoseconds :p
Sorry, I have nothing useful to contribute to this discussion, but that bit of info in your screenshot amused me.

Ha, I only wish I could find that amusing right now;).

I just want the damn computer to start but it's not looking good.

People have reported getting that false result from the hardware test when unplugged, and it going away by plugging in the AC power.
