Hi,
I am totally stuck with setting up Trendnet TEW-430APB in client mode. My wireless router (Thomson SpeedTouch) is located in the ground floor; the wireless signal is pretty good in the house. My son's bedroom is on the first floor, with iMac G4 without AirPort card. There is no network cabelling done on the first floor. I was suggested to use Trendnet TEW-430APB in the client mode to transfer wifi signal into iMac through network cable. Despite of my attempts, I do not manage to get it working. The Trendnet sales person said last week that it is totally plug-and-play, just connect the access point to the Mac and voila, but that was not true.
Which IP address should I use for the Trendnet device? The device itself has the address 192.186.1.100, which I can use for configuring the device via browser. My network is ADSL based, without fixed IP.
Sorry if my question seems childish and funny for some. I am not very familiar with networking. If anyone has experience with setting up this kind of netwrok solution, I would most appreciate any help and hints.
Kind regards,
M.
