I am trying to partition my disk on my macbook so I can also run windows.
So far I have tried Bootcamp and iPartition. Bootcamp has the 'this file cannot be moved' error and iPartition says I only have around a thousand bytes when on my desktop it says I have 40 GB free(really 39.42).

Can any body help me with this!?!

I've read on forum posts, similar to yours, that if you get a message from Boot Camp saying that a particular file can't be moved, you have to reformat and reinstall OS X and try Boot Camp process again.

However, I've also read about suggestions to resolve the problem too. Apparently, if you boot from you Mac OS X Install Disc and bring up Disk Utility and repair permissions and/or the disk itself, it can fix the problem and allow you to partition successfully.

I don't know what's going on with your iPartition program. I think I'll go with Finder's number.
