Ive just got hold of a G4 mirror door 800 FW. The odd problem I have is that I cant get the CD drawer open?

The old blue G4 I had, you just pressed the top and it opened. How do I open the CD drawer on the mirror drawer?

This seem almost an embarrassing thing to get stuck on but I cant get the thing open!!

Thanks

Using the eject key on a newer Apple keyboard.

I'm not sure what the equivalent is if you don't have an Apple keyboard.

You can't open it using the keyboard...?

Otherwise, rebooting while pressing and holding the mouse-button ejects any optical media, maybe that will also work with no disk inside.

This wasnt an emergency request, I just needed to know how to pen and close on day to day business. The eject key on the keyboard did work. But I cant believe that thats the only way that one can open and close the drive door.

many Thanks for your response. If anyone else knows a way apart from using the keyboard?

I think that if you open the MDD drive door (with you fingernail), you should be able to get to the manual open/close button on the far bottom right of the CD player.
Maybe you need something thin like a small screwdriver to access it though.
