I noticed today that I lost some of my files in a folder on my desktop, and I can't get them back! I'm not sure if they got deleted by the system or if I accidentally dragged them to the trash. How do I get them back??? I DID NOT and have not backed up these files in the past.

I'm running Mac OS X 10.3 Panther

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Look in your trash (double-click the trash can icon in the dock). If they aren't there, do a search in the Finder (Finder->File->Find...) and search your hard disk (be sure to click your disk icon, not just your home account) for the name of at least one of the files.

Good luck!

No Luck Still

No luck with the searching...but thanks for the idea. I think I might need some type of file recovery software. Does anyone have any good (and free) ideas?

Thanks.
